Lemon Dessert & Citrus Aromas

The best part of baking and cooking with lemons is the citrus aroma that fills the air.  Whether its lemon chicken, pink lemonade or lemon mousse, the citrus taste and aroma of lemons brings back wonderful memories of mid summer days.  When my sister and I were younger, we would set up a lemonade stand in front of our house and sell lemonade to passer-byers and with the money we made, we would go buy string to make friendship bracelets.  That is how we spent most of our hot summer days and with the weather going up to 25°C today, I thought I'd fill my apartment with the aroma of lemons and bake scrumptious lemon cupcakes.

{To bake lemon cupcakes, I used Betty Crocker Lemon Cake Mix, and  decorated them with  Betty Crocker Whipped Butter Cream frosting. To give the frosting a citrus flavor, I added two table spoons of fresh lemon juice to each half cup of frosting}
{For the yellow sprinkles, I added a few drops of yellow food coloring to sugar}

I remember my first lemonade stand...I had no idea how to make lemonade and ended up raiding the fridge, (and having a cooler filled with juice boxes and diet coke!!)
